YOUR STORY MATTERS

A Haven for Liturgy, Prayer, and Sacred Poetry

Ancient spaces of how the saints and mystics prayed was central to their prayer life and offers us today a quiet refuge - a sanctuary for the longing to slow down, breathe deeply, and return to sacred rhythms that restore the soul.

From the earliest days of the Church, the saints understood what science now confirms: contemplative prayer heals, integrates, and renews us.
St. Ignatius, through the Examen, taught attentiveness to God’s presence woven through daily life.
The Desert Mothers and Fathers discovered that silence, stillness, and prayer re-shape the heart and imagination. They knew that transformation unfolds not through striving, but through presence.

Today, neuroscience affirms this ancient wisdom. Contemplative practices support nervous system regulation, recovery from stress and trauma, and the deep human need for connection, safety, and secure attachment. These practices also gently engage the right hemisphere of the brain - the place of embodied awareness, imagination, emotion, meaning, and relational knowing. As this part of the brain opens, space is created for dreaming, creativity, and new ways of seeing God, self, and the world.

Here, prayer is spacious.
Liturgy is grounding.
Poetry becomes a doorway into God’s presence.

Soul Prayer is a contemplative haven for those who desire:

-
Prayer that centers and restores
-
Liturgy that roots the heart in ancient rhythms
-
Poetry that awakens imagination and creativity
-
Stillness that makes room for God’s gentle voice

We honor the wisdom of sacred texts, the beauty of ritual, and the healing power of language shaped by prayer. We gather words that have carried generations ... and allow them to carry us. We enter silence with reverence, letting stillness itself become prayer and imagination a place of encounter.

Whether you come seeking solace, grounding, or inspiration, Soul Prayer welcomes you into a space where the spirit can rest, the heart can listen, and creativity can reawaken.

Lectio Divina
Listening for the Sacred in Scripture and the Soul
One of the central rhythms of Soul Prayer is Lectio Divina - the ancient practice of slow, prayerful reading that invites Scripture to become a living conversation with God.

Lectio Divina is not about analysis or control; it is about attentiveness, presence, and relationship. It gently engages the whole person: mind, body, imagination, and spirit, allowing Scripture to be received not only through thought, but through felt meaning and inner resonance - sensing, imaging, feeling.

This sacred rhythm unfolds through four contemplative movements:
Lectio - Read
We read slowly, listening for a word or phrase that stirs the heart or imagination.
Meditatio - Reflect
We stay with what has caught our attention, allowing images, feelings, and meaning to deepen.
Oratio - Respond
We respond honestly and simply, offering prayer that arises naturally from encounter.
Contemplatio - Rest
We release words and rest in silence, letting ourselves be held in God’s presence.
Through this rhythm, Scripture becomes nourishment, supporting integration, creativity, spaciousness, and intimacy with God.

A Space to Be Held

These ancient paths continue to be alive today. Together, we explore liturgy, poetic prayer, silence, sacred reading, and contemplative practice to create a space where ...
the weary find rest
the searching find grounding
imagination and creativity are renewed
the heart encounters God in gentle, beautiful ways
Here, prayer is not rushed.
Presence is honored.
The soul is welcomed just as it is.
